Moving companies offer furniture disassembly as part of a full moving package. If you're organizing your own move and only need the furniture dismantled and reassembled, you don't need the whole package. We do just the furniture - fixed price, no hourly billing, no minimum.
During disassembly we label and bag all screws and small parts by piece of furniture. Before complex assemblies (PAX combination, BESTÅ with many units) we photograph the configuration to make reassembly at the new location straightforward. Sensitive components are wrapped.
What we disassemble and reassemble
IKEA PAX, KALLAX, BESTÅ, MALM, HEMNES and all other IKEA systems. Wardrobes of all brands (Rauch, Nolte, Hülsta). Beds and slat bases. Shelving and office furniture. For furniture being disassembled for the first time, we check in advance whether the joints will reassemble safely - IKEA furniture is designed for repeated disassembly, furniture with chipboard joints without metal inserts less so.
Disassembly and reassembly together or separate
We can disassemble the same day and reassemble at the new location if both addresses are in Vienna and timing allows. Or separately: disassembly one day, reassembly another - if the move spans multiple days or the new apartment hasn't been handed over yet.
Why labelling during disassembly determines reassembly
A PAX wardrobe with multiple modules and interior fittings has dozens of connection points and many parts that look similar. If every screw, every cam lock and every side and cross panel isn't labelled during disassembly, reassembly at the new location becomes guesswork. That takes considerably more time than labelling during disassembly.
We label all parts using a simple system: furniture code + position number. All screws and small parts go into labelled bags. The photo before disassembly shows the end configuration. Result: reassembly runs without guesswork and without missing parts.
When disassembling IKEA PAX wardrobes, always pack the back panels (thin fibreboard) separately with cardboard protection. These break easily in transit and are essential for the wardrobe's structural rigidity.
