How much weight can a wall clothes rail hold?
It depends on the anchors and the wall. In solid walls (Altbau brick, concrete) we can mount rails rated for 50 to 80 kg. In drywall we fix directly into the metal studs for 40 to 60 kg capacity. We size the fixing for the expected load.
At what height should a clothes rail be mounted?
Standard height is 160 to 180 cm from the floor. For long dresses and coats, at least 150 cm clearance is needed. For double rails: upper rail at 180 cm, lower rail at around 90 cm. We advise on site based on your clothing and room height.
Can a clothes rail be installed in a rental apartment?
Yes. At the end of the tenancy, drill holes are filled and painted over as standard. This is always possible with a proper wall mounting. No-drill clip systems exist but are generally not suitable for the weight a clothes rail carries.
