We assemble your IKEA PAX in Vienna completely: frames, hinged or sliding doors, drawers, clothes rails and shelves. Every wardrobe is levelled and anchored to the wall. You get the fixed price upfront, based on your plan from the PAX planner or the product list.
A PAX isn't a shelf you put together on the side. The frame is up to 236 cm tall, built lying down and then tipped up. IKEA itself recommends two people. Doing it for the first time often takes a full day.
What Really Matters When Building a PAX
The thin back panel holds the frame square. We measure both diagonals before nailing it down. If the frame is off by a few millimetres, the doors close crooked later and sliding doors run stiffly.
To tip it up, a 236 cm tall and 58 cm deep frame needs about 245 cm of ceiling height. In an Altbau with 3 m ceilings that's fine. In attic flats and some new builds it gets tight. Then we build it standing, or you go for the 201 cm version from the start.
Wall Anchoring in Altbau Buildings
IKEA includes the anti-tip fitting, but no screws or plugs for the wall. Those depend on the wall: crumbly Altbau plaster, brick, concrete and drywall each need something different. We bring the right ones, check the spot for cables first and fix into solid masonry.

Sliding Doors: Why They Often Run Stiffly
PAX sliding doors run in a track at the top and a guide at the bottom. If the frames aren't exactly in line or one stands crooked, the track is under tension. The doors then run stiffly, bump or jump out of the guide.
So we first laser-level all frames to one height and screw them together. Only then does the track go on. Then we adjust the doors until they run easily across the full width.
Fit sliding doors only once the frames are anchored to the wall. Otherwise anchoring shifts the whole line.
Leveling on Sloped Altbau Floors
Vienna's Altbau floors often drop 1 to 3 cm across a room. If a PAX stands crooked, the frame twists, doors hang unevenly and the gaps don't match. We measure the floor before tipping it up and put furniture shims under it until it stands straight.
With several wardrobes side by side this matters even more. They have to be level at the top, or you'll see a step between the doors.
Because of the skirting board, a PAX never stands fully flat against the wall. We plan in the gap so the anchoring still holds firmly.
Important Safety Notes
Tipping risk without wall anchoring
A tall PAX with open doors or full drawers can tip forward. Especially with children at home, wall anchoring is a must.
Cables and pipes in the wall
In older buildings, power and water lines often don't follow today's standards. We scan the wall before every hole for the anchoring.

One PAX wardrobe (50 to 100 cm wide) with hinged doors costs from €119. 150 cm wide from €229, 200 cm from €279. Sliding doors cost from €119 extra per pair. Drawers and inserts from €12 each. Wall anchoring is always included. You get the exact fixed price after your PAX plan.
How long does PAX assembly take?
One frame with hinged doors and shelves: 1.5 to 2.5 hours. A 200 cm combination with sliding doors and drawers: 5 to 7 hours, so usually a full working day. You get a time estimate with the quote.
What should we send for a quote?
Easiest is the plan from the IKEA PAX planner or the product list of your order. A photo of the wall helps too. For a first estimate, a short message with width and door type is enough.
Does a PAX have to be fixed to the wall?
Yes. A tall, narrow wardrobe can tip over once doors or drawers are open. We anchor every PAX to the wall with the right plug for your wall type. It's included in the price.
What do I need to prepare? Do you bring tools and wall plugs?
We bring everything, including screws and plugs for your wall. You just make sure the boxes are in the apartment and there's about 2.5 m of free floor in front of the wall. That's where we build the wardrobe lying down.
Will a 236 cm PAX fit in my apartment?
To tip it up, a 236 cm frame with 58 cm depth needs about 245 cm of ceiling height. In lower rooms we build it standing or recommend the 201 cm version before you buy. Send us your ceiling height and we'll tell you upfront.
Do you also take apart or rebuild an existing PAX?
Yes. Taking it apart for a move, rebuilding it in the new apartment, or reconfiguring it with new interior fittings. Disassembly from €89, the rest at a fixed price based on the work.
